Do you want to make the world a safer place? Our vision is to create security on the road, at home, and at work through innovative services. Together with competent and dedicated employees, you will have fun at work. We are now looking for a precision mechanic with knowledge in tool making and/or probe manufacturing for defect detection in materials for our prototype workshop and search lab in Solna, within DEKRA's Design & Construction section in the Mechanized Testing business area.

DEKRA is a global company that provides services in advanced and mechanized non-destructive material testing with a focus on safety. Material testing is performed using manipulators with robotic technology or stationary systems. The manipulators are built by DEKRA for remote inspection of areas and components that are not accessible in any other way, which often means that the systems are unique for each assignment and project.

The Position

As a precision mechanic in mechanized testing at DEKRA, you will be responsible for the design and manufacturing of small to medium-sized components with fine tolerances that are primarily used in our testing equipment. We manufacture, among other things, our own probes that use ET technology (Eddy Current), UT technology (Ultrasound), or a combination of these.

Your work will include the manufacturing of new items based on drawings, adapting existing components, as well as maintenance, service, and upgrades of previously developed probes and products.

We collaborate across our areas of expertise, and you will participate in the assembly and adaptation of the inspection equipment developed by the team, as well as train and guide DEKRA colleagues in your area of expertise. Your experience will contribute recommendations to simplify, improve, and make the work more cost-effective.

The work is free, varied, and creative, and in your role, you will have a significant impact on the functionality and design of the equipment.

The projects often involve close collaboration with your colleagues at DEKRA in Sweden and sometimes internationally. The department is spread across Sweden, with the largest group located in Solna. Our assignments involve travel both within Sweden and internationally, usually in periods of 1–2 weeks at a time. Typically, there are about 20–50 travel days per year, some years fewer and occasionally more.

Who are you?

You are a positive, energetic, and organized person with a strong technical understanding and creativity. You have the ability to find solutions to problems where others get stuck. You have experience in precision manufacturing and workshop work, such as machining in the form of turning and milling, and enjoy working with manufacturing.

You likely have knowledge in the design and construction of electrical systems, as electrical installations such as connections and soldering are a natural part of developing probes, building search housings, and cable installation.

Other

A valid driver's license (B) is required, as well as good knowledge of Swedish and English.

Welcome with your application!

Please submit your application in the form of a cover letter and CV by April 30, 2025. Selection and interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis, so the position may be filled before the application deadline.
